The Kenya Diaspora Alliance (KDA), registered in Kenya and the USA as a non-profit Trust Foundation, is a Federation that brings together over 40 registered Diaspora organizations with a combined nominal membership of 250,000 Kenyans across the globe. KDA adopts a broad definition of ‘Diaspora’ to include non-residents, returnees, mixed families, aliens, as well as corporates conducting business outside Kenya. It does not discriminate on the basis of gender, age, religion, race, tribe, political persuasion, location, etc.
DICL started as KDA’s business and investment arm. It is incorporated in Kenya and South Sudan as a limited liability company, presently with 100 shareholders in 6 different countries of the world in North America, Europe, Africa, Middle East and Asia. It’s major current business interests are in: real estate, financial markets, tech-novation (especially mobile apps), and business/investment consultancy. In the latter, it is presently engaged in attracting and negotiating medium and large investments from abroad in the areas of infrastructure, renewable energy, agriculture, and mini-industries into Africa, with initial focus on 6 Eastern African countries (DRC, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Sudan, Rwanda and Uganda).

We draw resources from the synergy of all Kenyans in the Diaspora to engage, empower and innovate for stronger communities. Like other African countries, Kenya realizes the important role Diaspora can play in the areas of financial, virtual and physical transfers, image building, good governance, trade and investments. In addition, the Kenyan Diaspora can act as a catalyst in bringing innovation, and the best practices in different areas of public and private sectors.
The Portal was a result of our collective desire to up-scale Diaspora’s online presence through innovative, content-rich, interactive, and captive Internet and web platforms.
